Planning and Packing

Hi Happy Readers,

Welcome to Dave and My retrospective blog about our South-East Asian HoneyMoon Extravaganza. Our HoneyMoon Extravaganza was entirely funded by our lovely family and friends through a HoneyMoon Fund.

Dave and I were married in September and quickly began planning vacation time and gathered ideas for locations. The way the pieces fell into place, February became the month and the locations became narrowed to Eastern Europe or South East Asia. With the Winter Olympic Games taking place in Sochi and Eastern Europe having the possibility of being very crowded, we chose a South East Asian Adventure. Or to be more specific, we chose China, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam; the smiley face of South East Asia.

We planned and planned, and finally the day before our trip we packed. Here's what we took for Three Weeks and Eight Cities in Four Countries:

Catie's Stuff
   Clothing
     - 5 t-shirts (pink stripe, pink planet money, blue, white, and black)
     - 1 tank top (was ruined in the 1st and only sent out wash we did)
     - 2 long sleeve shirts (striped and black)
     - 1 sweater (that I was so happy to have in Halong Bay)
     - 3 bottoms (jean capris, blue jeans, and orange jeans)
     - 1 skirt and 2 dresses (polka dot dress and striped long dress)
     - 2 cardigans (white and blue)
     - 10 pairs of underwear, 2 bras, and 1 sports bra
     - 1 bathing suit (used once)
     - 2 pairs of socks (didn't wear them once!)
     - 1 pair of toms and 1 pair of dance shoes
   Misc bathroom stuff, but only three "beauty" product... moisturizer, sun screen, and conditioner!
   Technology
     - Nikon DSLR Camera with 2 lenses, charger, and 2 32gb memory cards
     - Kobo ebook and charger
     - iphone 4s and charger
     - ipod and charger
Dave's Stuff
   Clothing
     - 3 t-shirts
     - 3 collar shirts
     - 1 UVic hoody
     - 4 bottoms (1 pair of pants and 3 shorts)
     - 5 pairs of socks
     - 5 pairs of underwear (he should have brought more)
     - 1 bathing suit (used once)
     - 1 pair of solomon shoes, 1 pair of sandals, and 1 pair of dance shoes
   Misc bathroom stuff... none exciting
   Technology
     - Pentax (point and shoot) Camera, charger, and 1 8gb memory card (packed by Catie)
     - Kindle ebook and charger
     - Nokia phone and charger
     - ipod and charger

All of this fit into two backpacks with loads of space left. The one thing I wish we had packed that we didn't and couldn't find to my liking... rain jackets, which is ironic because we are from Vancouver!
